24th June

24th of June is always a day I won't forget
It's the day my grandma died
She passed on the day I planned to give her a surprise visit
We lived in different countries

She was just an outstanding lady
A well-admired woman of God
She thought me alot about life at a tender age
She contributed to the person I am today

Just writing this bring
So many memories are 'flashing back'
Oh how I miss her so.

Love you dearly my Grandma Coley
Even though you left me 3 years ago
It feels like it was just yesterday.

P.S. Back in those days when she was alive
Cameras were around .. lol.

How I miss her so
More than you ever know
How I love her so
More than you ever know
The memories, laughs
Will always keep you alive in my heart

Nothing like hymns

I love my hymns
They are just different from the contemporary songs we hear now
Mark you, I don't listen hymns everyday
Nothing is wrong with variety
But when I do listen them
I go hard and done!
Even research the verses and what makes the song writer pen this song,
Where their mind was at .. all these things!! :) #Research

Sometimes just the chorus, sometimes just the verse or even one line
Gzzzz ... its like it takes me way in!!!
Just shut me away from the cares of this world
And puts me in a different zone
'Crazy' eeeh ..
BUT music does that
Thank God for it.

So today I'm sharing one of my favorite hymns with ya'll entitled
"'Whatever it takes"

Verse 1:: There's a voice calling me, from an old rugged tree
And He whispers draw closer to me
Leave this world far behind,
There are new heights to climb
And a new place in Me you will find

Chorus::: And whatever it takes, to draw closer to You Lord
That's what I'd be wiling to do
And whatever it takes, to be more like you
That's what I'd be willing to do

Verse 2::: Take my houses and lands,
Take my dreams and my plans.
I place my whole life in Your hands.
And if you call me someday,
To a land far away,
Lord, I'll go and Your will obey.

Verse 3::: Take the dearest things to me,
If that's how it must be
To draw closer to Thee
Let the disappointments come
Lonely days without the sun
If through sorrow more like You I'll become

Bridge::: I'll trade sunshine for rain
Comfort for pain
That's what I'll be willing to do
For whatever it takes for my will to break,
That's what I'll be willing to do

Now you tell me if this ain't some serious words!
Sometimes we have to be very careful of the songs we sing so 'loosely'
Because this to me sounds like a promise
I could be wrong
Just my thoughts though!

It's mid-week,
Itttttt's Wednzdayyyyyy ya'll!!!!!!! :)

Spill-over

Today, I'm having a 'spill-over' from church yesterday
The sermon was very encouraging
Thought I would share it with you

If you can't watch it
Plug in your ear piece and listen it
Enjoy and be blest! :)

"Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me"

PS.. I've been trying from morning to put the Youtube video here .. But it ain't working. So for now, I'll work with the link!

Strength like no other

Have you ever been so weak you don't feel like you can last for another second,
But somehow you find inner strength to push ahead?

Maybe it is that you have been feeling so down and out
Falling apart and crying uncontrollably inside
But you hide it so well with a smile
You deceive many?

I don't know how many persons do it
99.9% of their life you see them smiling
It's as though they never have a dull moment

Are they hypocrites if they pretend to be feeling happy when they are not?
Or do they do it because growing up they were always told to 'Put your best foot forward'?
Maybe it is that because they are having a bad day, they want to impact someone with their smile so they can be happy.

Hmmmm *thinks thinks*
Some questions may never be answered.
What do you think?

Desiderata

A friend of mine shared this with me this morning
Its a bit lengthy but its worth the read :)
It was written by Max Ehrmann, a poet and writer

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.
